How to Use a Blender

Using a blender could be a challenging task for many people. It is not easy to use one especially if it is new to you. When you are using it for the first time, it can scare you. With subsequent use, however, it becomes a normal process that you will have mastered very well. A blender has its steps to follow when using it. Always go through the instruction manual before using any machinery, especially when it is new to you. Also, when you are not sure of what to do, just refer to the instruction manual. Read on to find out more.

Important steps to follow when using a blender

Plug it into the power source

Always make sure that the blender is clean before connecting it to the power source. Wipe your hands dry as wet hands are not safe to use when handling electrical appliances.

Remove the lid and put the ingredients inside

Make sure that you do not put only solid things inside. This will give your blender a hard time to move. Put some solid items such as peeled banana and add some little liquid inside. This will move fast. Always ensure that the liquid is covering the solid matter. On the other hand, do not put hot or boiling items in the blender. It can break it.

Cover the lid, cover it and hold it tightly

If you don’t make it tight, the cap will come off when blending. You can remove the lid cap while blending to add some more little ingredients. The best thing, however, is to leave it closed till you are done with the blending. When open, it may splash the contents and make dirty your walls and the floor.

Secure the bottom of the blender to the base so that it can start when switched on.

Switch it on and blend

You are now ready to blend. Do the first experiment with a few buttons to see if it is working well. At this stage, do not go for high-speed blending. Once done with experimenting, choose the appropriate speed depending on what you are blending. The button on the far right of your blender is the high-speed button. The speed progresses from the left button to the far right. When up and running, do not introduce any utensils to the blender. This may cause it to break. Turn it off before stirring the content with any utensil

Open the blender and carefully pour out the content

Your blend is now ready. Pour out the solution to a waiting utensil such as a jug. At this stage, your content is now ready to be consumed. You are done with blending and now ready for the next blending assignment.

Clean the blender

Once done with the process, you will need to thoroughly clean it. Make sure that you scratch gently. Wash the blades well as they tend to retain what was being blended. When washing the blades, exercise care because it may cause cuts. Do not wash it before unplugging it from the power source.

Take your blender from the base and wash the two parts thoroughly and separately. Do not put the base into the water. Take a towel and wipe off any dirt on it. Wash the top part with warm water using a towel and soap. Dry the blender fully before storing it. Leave it upside down to drop all the water.

Put back your blender

When it is clean and dry, do not leave your blender hanging around. You will need to put it in a clean dry place, out of danger. If it falls on a hard surface it may break. Do not put it where children can take it and play with it. Do not let your children do the blending unless you carefully monitor how they do. But if they know how to blend, then it is not harmful to them to do the blending.

The procedure of using the blender is almost similar. There are no major variations. Little differences can only occur due to manufacturer preferences. The manual should be able to guide you properly in this. Follow all the requisite steps when using your blender. Avoid blending when the top is open. Do not use a broken blender. It is not safe to use. When you are not blending, keep your machine in a safe place.

Enjoy your blending.
